DJ Menace, whose real name is Ally Arnold Majatjabothata, makes a return to the music industry with his recently released EP titled ‘Back To the Mainstream’, a 7-track EP featuring the gospel dance lead single ‘NKATEKO’ alongside gospel sensation Urban Matjila.
After some time away from the limelight, DJ Menace is returning with a renewed sense of purpose and a fresh perspective on his craft.
Born in Limpopo, in the small town of Zebediela, DJ Menace came into the showbiz scene through dance, and quickly establishing himself as a strong brand in the entertainment industry.
He has danced for the late great pop diva Brenda Fassie, Mavusan, Tronix wa Lefatshe, Penny Penny, Mia, and many more.
From setting stages on fire with Brenda Fassie to cooking up chart-topping hits like “Coffee” and “Money Maker,” DJ Menace opened up about his musical journey to the exhilarating collaborations that define his latest project.
Ha says Back To The Mainstream is a meaningful EP as it was inspired by the hardships he faced throughout his journey in the music space.
“Back To The Mainstream is a celebration of faith and community. Through the transformative power of music, the EP shares personal stories of belief and resilience, inspiring audiences to embrace their journey with renewed strength and purpose.”
“There are exciting features on the EP including Urban Matjila, a gospel sensation from Zebediela, my hometown. Speedy, the long-serving artist, and the ever-consistent player in the game from the days of Bongo Maffin.”
“I also featured the social media influencer Mphela Mphela, who is poetic in nature. When we called him, he was very skeptical, saying “I can’t sing.” Then we explained everything to him, that we are interested in him giving us a poem rather than him singing, that’s how he agreed,” said Menace.
The EP comes after he teamed up with his younger brother Pat Mogotlane, who played a vital role in driving the brand DJ Menace to be independent from the major record labels.
Together they run Action Visits Media, an events, artist management, radio, TV & music production company that the “BACK TO THE MAINSTREAM” EP is released under.
