Dr Winnie Mashaba
Multi-award-winning gospel icon Dr. Winnie Mashaba was last night honored with a Legendary Status Award at the Legendary In His Presence With Benjamin Dube live album recording. The award was presented personally by the bishop.
Taking to her Facebook page, Winnie Mashaba said the whole experience surprised her and she couldn’t be more grateful.
“Last night I was honored with the Legendary Status Award by Benjamin Dube at Dube Connections. A se ka robala ka gore ke tšerwe ke maikutlo kudu. Honestly, this is one of those awards that carries so much weight,” she said.
For over three decades, multi-award-winning South African gospel musician Bishop Benjamin Dube has spread the word of God through music around the world. Winnie Mashaba expressed her gratitude to the bishop.
“We can all testify that Bishop Dube is our father in the music industry and we all pray to work with him. As we started rehearsals, I could sense that something big was coming because I was just starting to miss my grandparents. I had no idea this would happen. Thank you Dube Connection for choosing me as one of the recipients”
Bishop Benjamin Dube presented the award to Winnie Mashaba at the Superbowl Arena at the Sun City Resort in Rustenburg, North West. The 60-year-old musician praised Winnie for doing a great job staying true to her roots.
“This lady has kept to her culture and language. We’re proud of her. We love her and we appreciate the work she has done in this country,” he said.
Winnie Mashaba is a multi-award-winning South African gospel musician, TV presenter, and businesswoman. She was born and raised in the small village of Kgoši Phasha, Steelpoort.
She received an honorary doctorate from the Trinity International Bible University (TIBU) for her work in music.
